Record holder
With five wins in the Scheldeprijs, the German Marcel Kittel is the absolute record holder. In the Argos - Shimano jersey, Kittel first celebrated on the Churchillaan in Schoten at the age of just 23. The next two editions would also be won by the ace sprinter. In 2015, Kittel skipped the Scheldeprijs, before winning again in 2016 and 2017. The German competed in the unofficial world sprinters’ championship eight times in his career and was victorious five times.
